KIRBERG MOTORS is the label under which Caroline Kirberg
produces select art film projects and consults artists for their
audiovisual productions. With this offer she accounts for the
growing demand for professionalizing services on the crossroads of art and film.
With KIRBERG MOTORS, Caroline follows her interest in hybrid forms between film and art as well as documentary and fiction.
Since producing her first fiction feature for cinema, THE SLEEPING GIRL, which premiered at Berlinale 2011, she has been working as a freelance creative producer as well as line producer and production manager for artist films. She continuously works with artists like Mareike Bernien, Dani Gal, Stephan Geene, Alex Gerbaulet, Assaf Gruber, Rainer Komers, Volker Sattel, Clarissa Thieme, and Clemens von Wedemeyer.
Since 2014 she has been closely collaborating with pong film, the production company of Philip Scheffner and Merle Kröger who are responsible for the internationally acclaimed films THE DAY OF THE SPARROW, REVISION, AND-EK GHES…, and HAVARIE.
Caroline holds an MA in film studies and English language and
literature studies from FU Berlin. She took part in further education programs such as Emerging Producers Jihlava 2015, Rotterdam Lab 2014, Cannes Lab 2014, and International Producing at ifs
Cologne 2011. She teaches at UdK Berlin, HGB Leipzig, PMMC Halle and Merz Akademie Stuttgart and is an active participant in film political and theoretical discussions, e.g. within the organization Hauptverband Cinephilie which she co-founded together with fellow filmmakers, distributors, cinema makers and curators in 2019.
